Each of Schwinn’s recumbent exercise bike models come with a heart rate sensor located in the handles that measures your pulse while riding. Each model has at least 8 resistance levels, as well as an LED screen which indicates to the user calories burned, speed, pulse, resistance, distance, RPM and watts. Schwinn Models 230 and 231 are equipped with sixteen resistance levels. The Schwinn 231 also includes 23 exercise programs.
ProForm Recumbent Bicycle
The ProForm recumbent bike comes preloaded with a bunch of video games, which is a highlight for many of its users. This bike retails for around $400, and weighs in at around 100 pounds. The bike’s handles also include a heart rate monitor, and since this model also uses a magnetic resistance system it makes for a quiet ride. The seat is adjustable both backwards and forwards, which allows for optimum comfort.
Spirit XBR25
Spirit XBR25 recumbent exercise bikes are a popular choice of gyms and athletic clubs. With retail price of $1200, it is fairly expensive, but for good reason; it is equipped with 20 levels of resistance, a seat which adjusts to sixteen different positions, and 8 programmed exercises. The weight-resistance is also rider adjustable – up to 350 pounds. The bike’s frame and brakes have lifetime warranties, and all other parts are covered by Spirit’s five year warranty. If you only exercise a few times per week than this recumbent exercise bike may not be the ideal choice.
